Artist Statement

All creation testifies to the glory of the Lord (Romans 1:20).

I love color, which is one of the reasons fall is my favorite time of the year. Last November, with winter approaching, I wanted to hold on to the vibrant colors of fall as long as possible. And living in the hills of Tennessee, I had lots of inspiration around me.

The historic barns, farm buildings and cabins whisper untold stories of slower, uncomplicated times when people worked hard, went to church and loved their country. Children played outside until sundown, we knew our neighbors and we didn’t lock our doors. That’s the inspiration behind this collection.

As I work to improve my craft, I pray over each piece and give it a scripture reference on the front with the scripture printed on the back. May these paintings remind you of those uncluttered days and encourage you to draw close to God and listen to His voice.

Books, Teaching, and Speaking

I began my career as a drama teacher, radio announcer and artist, then served as a YWAM Bible teacher and missionary in the Asia Pacific region. My books include Life Lessons from the Hive, Life Lessons from a Rescue Dog, and Unexpected, a God Journey, a chronicle of my life in missions.

She now speaks and teaches in churches, conferences and study groups. If you’re interested in having her come and speak with your group, check out the speaker topics page.

My paintings are inspired by scripture, and I also do commissioned work. Explore the artwork and contact me if a piece catches your eye.

On this blog I share thoughts about life and the Kingdom of God. Thanks for joining me on the journey.
